Gabriele Tarquini became one of the defining stars of the Super Touring era through his work with the iconic Alfa Romeo 155. After Alfa Romeo shocked the BTCC paddock with its advanced four-wheel-drive 155 in 1994, Tarquini’s aggressive yet calculated driving style helped cement the car’s reputation as a benchmark touring car. Although rule changes later forced Alfa to abandon four-wheel drive, Tarquini remained fiercely competitive and continued battling against factory teams from Renault, Audi, Volvo, and Nissan. His passionate driving and constant wheel-to-wheel fights made him one of the era’s most respected international drivers.
