Anthony Reid was one of the toughest racers of the Super Touring years and became closely associated with the Ford Mondeo. Driving for Ford’s factory-backed programme, Reid brought raw aggression, humour, and relentless racecraft to the BTCC grid. The Mondeo evolved from a midfield contender into a genuine championship threat by the late 1990s, helped by rapid chassis development and increasing factory investment. Reid’s fearless overtakes and refusal to back down in close combat made him a fan favourite, especially during Ford’s intense battles with Nissan, Renault, and Vauxhall.
